Different Ways to Give

One of the simplest ways to support our future is through a bequest in your will or trust. You may leave a specific dollar amount, a percentage of your estate, or the remainder of your estate after other provisions have been fulfilled. A bequest allows you to make a meaningful gift without affecting your current financial resources. If you choose to include Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre in your estate plans, we encourage you to let us know so we can thank you and ensure your gift is used in accordance with your wishes.

Naming Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre as a beneficiary of a retirement account, life insurance policy, donor advised fund, or other financial account is an easy and tax-efficient way to support our mission. Beneficiary designations can often be made simply by completing a form with your plan administrator and can be updated at any time. For donors age 70½ and older, Qualified Charitable Distributions (QCDs) from an IRA may also provide a tax-advantaged way to support our work.

A charitable gift annuity or charitable remainder trust can provide income for you or your loved ones during your lifetime while also supporting Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre in the future. These arrangements may offer tax benefits and can be tailored to your financial goals and philanthropic priorities.

A charitable lead trust allows you to support Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre for a set period of time while preserving assets for your family or other beneficiaries. Depending on your circumstances, these arrangements may offer significant estate and gift tax advantages.

If you have a donor advised fund (DAF), you may recommend grants to Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre at any time. You may also choose to name the organization as a beneficiary of your donor advised fund, creating a lasting legacy of support for dance education and artistic innovation.

Many donors choose to make gifts of appreciated assets such as publicly traded securities, real estate, privately held business interests, or other property. These gifts can provide valuable tax benefits while making a significant impact on our programs and future growth.

Allow Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre to direct funds where they are most needed and where they can have the greatest impact

Support innovative dance education experiences that bring movement, creativity, and social-emotional learning into schools and communities. Your gift can help expand access to residencies, workshops, professional development for educators, curriculum development, and arts programming that reaches students of all ages and abilities. Through Notes in Motion, thousands of young people each year develop confidence, collaboration, self-expression, and creative problem-solving skills through dance.

Invest in the creation, production, and presentation of original dance works by Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre. Your support brings new artistic visions to life, providing resources for choreography, dancers, designers, production elements, venue costs, supporting innovative performances that engage audiences and contribute to the cultural vitality of our communities. Legacy gifts in this area help ensure the continued growth and evolution of the company’s artistic voice for generations to come.

Help ensure that financial barriers never prevent participation in the transformative power of dance. Scholarship and access gifts support students, schools, and community partners with limited resources, enabling greater participation in educational programs, workshops, performances, and special initiatives. These gifts can underwrite individual participants, off-set or eliminate the cost to schools for programs, creating equitable opportunities for communities who may otherwise have limited access to high-quality dance experiences.

Support programs that build connections across generations in the diverse communities we serve. Community engagement initiatives foster collaboration, dialogue, creativity, and shared experiences among participants of different backgrounds, ages, and abilities. Gifts directed to this area help expand partnerships with schools, community organizations, cultural institutions, and underserved populations, strengthening the role of dance as a catalyst for connection and positive social impact.

Provide flexible support that strengthens the long-term health and resilience of Notes in Motion/Amanda Selwyn Dance Theatre. These gifts help sustain the people, systems, technology, facilities, and infrastructure that make our artistic and educational work possible. By investing in organizational sustainability, you help ensure that the organization remains adaptable, innovative, and capable of serving future generations through both artistic excellence and educational impact.

Donors interested in creating a lasting legacy may also wish to discuss endowment or special legacy initiatives that provide permanent support for the organization’s future. We welcome conversations about establishing named funds or other opportunities that align with your philanthropic goals and values.

Support the recruitment, training, mentorship, and professional growth of the Teaching Artists who deliver Notes in Motion programs. These gifts multiply impact through expanding the resources and skills of our dance educators themselves.
