Mackie Saylor (education program manager) is a mission-driven educator and arts administrator who is committed to utilizing the arts as a tool for building and celebrating our communities. Mackie comes to Notes in Motion after three years as the program manager at Children's Museum of Arts. As an arts leader, Mackie seeks to redistribute the resources of institutions by creating meaningful, long-term bonds between artists, organizations, and schools. She specializes in collaborating with schools and communities to create intentional inclusive arts programming, as well as in meaningful professional development for teaching artists and educators. In 2012, she co-founded Ashworth Theatre Company in her hometown of Waukee, IA, and led its programs until 2019. She continues to teach, write, and direct works with young people and is a frequent collaborator with the NYU Verbatim Performance Lab. Mackie also performed regionally and on tour as a member of Actors Equity before working as a performing arts teaching artist with organizations throughout the country. Mackie holds a BFA in Musical Theatre from the Conservatory of Theatre Arts at Webster University and an MA in Educational Theatre from NYU Steinhardt.
